Buggy

Bill Dohrman of Rushville restored a buggy that was originally built in the 1920’s. The buggy was originally used by Bill’s grandmother, Anna, to deliver cream and eggs to Rushville on Saturdays to trade for groceries and supplies. Bill has fond memories of playing on the buggy when he was a boy.
In the 1960’s, Bill had hopes of rebuilding the buggy but lacked the funds to purchase used wheels. The restoration project started in 2008. It is remarkable that the wood and iron pieces remained after 100 years of laying outside. Bill said it was like a puzzle trying to put all the pieces together. Allan Tullis replaced the wood on the original hubs. This work was done on the original homestead where Bill grew up.
Bill donated the buggy to the Sheridan County Historical Museum in Rushville for everyone to enjoy.
Beautiful Work, Bill! Thanks for sharing your labor of love.
